Fishing Requirements and Regulations
Experience unforgettable day fishing adventures at HideAway Lakes, Texas. Cast your lines into the only oxbow lakes of West Texas, teeming with blue, channel, and white catfish. Our secluded haven offers the perfect backdrop for anglers of all levels.

ENTRY BY RESERVATION ONLY
- - CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY -
- No stringers allowed, no buckets for holding fish allowed, no coolers for holding fish allowed.
- Gates open at 6 AM, Friday mornings.
- Day fishing ends at 6 PM. Please plan accordingly.
- Closed TUESDAY-THURSDAY
- Please know the Park Rules before visiting.
Fishing Regulations
Fishing access subject to capacity limits and approval.
- Texas fishing licenses are not required. Private property!
- Fishing passes (wristbands) must be worn at all times.
- All fishing rods will be tagged during check in.
- Please bring your own rod & reel. We do not rent or sell fishing rods. Please visit our Bait & Tackle Shack!
- 2 fishing poles allowed per angler. Maximum: 4 poles per angler with purchase of second wristband.
- Park staff will check coolers, bags, trunks, etc., for glass and/or alcohol. Please keep ice in original bag in cooler to ensure a thorough search can be made.
- If your group is 3 or more vehicles, or you want to reserve your favorite fishing spot, please call to make a reservation.
- We allow 1 hook per rod and reel. Fishing with sticks, bottles, soda cans, etc., is prohibited.
- Please do not throw unused bait in the lake. Please give it to a neighbor angler or park staff, or place it in a sealed trash bag.
⚠️ Keeping, holding, and/or harvesting fish without prior permission is theft. Failure to follow rules will result in removal without refund. Refusal to leave after notice may be reported as criminal trespass. ⚠️ Texas Penal Code §30.05 & § 31.03

Max Capacity & Reservations
- Reservations are required for entry.
- Maximum of 60 people total in park at a time.
- Once capacity is reached, no additional lake access will be granted.
- Reservation requests may remain open even after capacity is reached; however, entry is only approved for confirmed reservations.
- Submission of a reservation request does not guarantee entry.
Upon Arrival
- The Reservation Holder of your group must be prepared to show a valid driver's license or ID.
- All members in your group will receive wristbands which must be worn at all times.
- If any assistance should be required in finding your reserved site, park staff will happily guide you to the right place.
